Just 5 days before the election, at 3a.m. on October 30th, all of the front windows of the Cindy Sheehan for Congress campaign offices were shattered. Although staffers had been in the office less than an hour earlier, no one was in the building at the time of the incident. No one was hurt and there were no witnesses. Cindy Sheehan is a candidate for Congress in California’s 8th Congressional District race against incumbent Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

“It seems to have been a calculated intimidation tactic,” said Tiffany Burns, the Cindy for Congress campaign manager. “One of our computers was stolen, but no other property was taken from our offices and no surrounding buildings were targeted. Clearly they wanted to both frighten us and to gather information.” Damage to the campaign office is currently estimated at more than $5,000.

The Cindy for Congress campaign recently chronicled a series of unusual events, including other threats of violence, in a statement issued on October 13th. In that statement, Cindy Sheehan noted “[t]he past few weeks have been a little strange at Cindy for Congress [...] the things that have been happening could just be coincidences, or a run of bad luck, but the climate for the possibility of campaign hanky-panky certainly exists.”

Campaign staffers also note each incident, including today’s early morning incident, has followed closely on the heels of a confrontation with Cindy Sheehan’s opponent Nancy Pelosi. This morning’s incident occurred after an on-air confrontation between the two candidates on KQED’s public affairs program Forum with Michael Krasny on Wednesday morning.

“Each time we confront her, each time we ask her for a debate, each time we gain ground in the polls, something horrible happens,” said Burns. “Once or twice might be a coincidence, but such a consistent correlation is hard to ignore.”

Roland Burris, though his term may be short, has to qualify as the most pathetic United States Senator we have ever had.  He should have never even taken the appointment in the first place from the out of control cowboy Blogo, except he’d already been lusting after it and trying to buy it from him, so I guess he thought it was too good to pass up when he got it free.

Now he’s out there in the media everyday whimpering and whining and clinging to his ill-begotten seat while his lawyer whispers in his ear about how he didn’t do anything wrong, when he and everyone else already knows he did.

Artist Scott Donahue of Emeryville, Calif., was paid $196,000 by Berkeley’s public arts program to create two large statues, which feature small, artistic medallions that show dogs doing what dogs do best.

Prayers Have Been Heard...Prayers Have Been Answered.

Take a good look at Kyle Hendry, he’s the guy on the far left in the photo above.  You can see he’s been through one heck of a fight just by looking at his face.

What his face also shows, as do the faces of the others around him, is that God gave us all a tremendously strong will to live, and he also gave life a tremendously strong instinct for survival.  

Cut trees and bushes back and they flourish with unprecedented growth.  Break a leg and the new bone grows stronger than it is anywhere else, at the place where the break mended.

Like Jesus says in the old Shaker Song, Lord of The Dance, “They cut me down but I jumped up high, because I am The Life that will never ever die.  I’ll live in you, if you live in me….” and so on.

The point is, Kyle has gotten well.  He’s beaten a very powerful form of cancer.  He beat it with his will, with his prayers, the prayers of those around him, the doctors, the treatments, and the Divine intervention of a beautiful God who wants to see the life in Kyle go on and on.
